More Reading Maps and Reading Resources

Page history last edited by Becky Spratford 3 years, 2 months ago

In November of 2006, Neal Wyatt encouraged librarians to begin using the Internet to explore all aspects of a book.  She wrote this article in Library Journal which outlines her processes.

After presenting how-to programs all over the library, Wyatt was able to inspire many libraries to give it a try.  Here are some examples:

The Kanawha County Public Library in Charleston, West Virginia has started to post Reading Maps.  Click on each to see them: Abraham Lincoln, Twilight, Jane Austen, and Jackie Robinson.

Twilight by Colleen Seisser from Deerfield Public Library

Reading Maps by the Prospect Heights (IL) Public Library District

My other reading maps:

Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill

If you like to read and want more ideas, I am always posting about the books I am reading at my blog: RA for All.

The entire RA staff at the Berwyn Library (including myself) uses Shelfari to let you know about what we are reading too. (Just click on any one of our pictures on the right hand side to see our personal shelves)
